HDR Tutorial: Shooting

24mm | 1/250s | f/5.6 | ISO100 | 3-image HDR

High Dynamic Range (HDR) photography has become very popular over the past few years.  I am fortunate to have started learning about it from near the beginning, and have become proficient in shooting and processing HDR images.  I am very overdue for writing this tutorial.  This first part will focus on shooting the bracketed images.  The next post will focus on post-processing.

How to Shoot Panos

38mm | 2.5s | f/8 | ISO400 | 4-image Pano

I've been dying to do a tutorial on Panos for a while.  I had the opportunity to take some in Tampa a few weeks ago and I thought this would be a good reason to write up a tutorial.  I originally got most of this information from a forum post by Leung on dpreview (I can't find the post, but I saved the info to a PDF).  It helped me a lot when I was just starting out, and I'll be adding some lesson's I've learned along the way.

How to Shoot Lightning

50mm | 8s | f/9 | ISO 400

The inclement weather today got me thinking yet again about shooting lightning.  Alas, I didn't get a chance, but I was reminded of my desire to put together a tutorial on how to shoot lightning.  I figured while its fresh in my mind from thinking about it all day I would start writing it down.
